Square Mile Salute - Thursday 10th February 2011
Chamberlain’s were delighted to deliver this truly unique culinary event with the support of The Academy of Culinary Arts.
The might of the city, including Mayor of London Boris Johnson, together with former Chief of General Staff Sir Mike Jackson and Jeremy Clarkson, gathered in Guildhall for a black tie banquet in aid of raising much-needed funds for vital Personnel Recovery Units. This is part of a drive by The Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes and ABF The Soldier’s charity who are working together to build and run centres for wounded troops on their return from active duty.
The evening began with a champagne reception in The Crypts together with live canapé, sushi and caviar stations. This was followed by a gastronomic extravaganza served in the Great Hall and hosted by Brian Turner CBE; the five-course menu was devised and cooked by an impressive array of top international chefs including Albert Roux OBE, Mark Flanagan MVO, the Royal Chef and John Williams MBE, Executive Chef at The Ritz, to name a few. The banquet was coupled with upbeat entertainment and ended with a very lively and enthusiastic auction.
Square Mile Salute demonstrates a winning combination of the city’s business leaders and exceptional culinary talent, allowing such an event to take place while at the same time giving something back to those hugely in need of support.
We are pleased to announce that plans for Square Mile Salute 2012 are underway – pencil 22nd February 2012 in your diary!
We look forward to seeing you there!

St George's Day 2010
Chamberlain's was delighted to take part in Leadenhall's City of London British Food week celebration. This culminated in a St George's day celebration on 23rd April where we served a special locally sourced English menu within the restaurant.
Outside we served Chamberlain's special fish and chips - embellished with a red St George's Cross - made from a natural beetroot dye that was deep fried into the fish batter. All served up within a Financial Times newspaper wrapping.
The cod was supplied by our parent company Chamberlain and Thelwell fish wholesalers - who also brought some fine examples of the raw product to Leadenhall from our business at Billingsgate, as you can see from the enclosed photograph of Boris Johnson and David Cameron being served their own portion of Chamberlain's St George's Day Fish and Chips.
